E3 Prijs Vlaanderen
The E3 Prijs Vlaanderen nevers fail to offer an exciting race and this year’s routes is set to throw up yet more challenges for the riders, especially if the weather conditions leave something to be desired. The majority of the climbing comes in the latter part of the parcours, making for an interesting race as it looks set to tax tired legs. Twelve famous climbs feature along the way including the Eikenberg, Taaienburg, Patersberg and Kwaremont which all feature in close succession before the spectacular finale in Harelbeke. With four E3 wins to his name already, Tom Boonen is the natural favourite for this year's event.
The 2009 edition of de Brabantse Pijl has a punishing route that takes in 193.5 kilometers of hard racing. The majority of the ascending comes in the latter part of the day with the Bruineput and the Lindenberg climbs within the final laps. There are no frighteningly steep gradients in the 15 rises but the sheer number will hurt the riders' legs. It will be on the uphill finish in Beersel that we see this year's victor crowned so this is a race for a powerful rider that can perform on that rise to the line.
