Ones to watch

NICK NUYENS

This fella won last year, and even though it was a bit of a surprise, it was hard to deny he deserved it. It's true the Belgian benefited from Cancellara's work and Chavanel's desire to let Boonen bridge the gap, but his victory was the result of multiple attacks and some clever riding.

FABIAN CANCELLARA

If there's one guy who's been dominant here in recent years, it's Cancellara. In this and Paris-Roubaix, it's gotten to the point where "wait for Cancellara attacks, then follow him to the end" is a legitimate strategy. How can he counter that?

TOM BOONEN

AKA King Tommeke of Flanders. Beers will be held aloft, mayo-sodden frites will be dropped, and his name will ring out across the land. Basically, the crowds will behead him if he doesn't at least try to win here. No matter how well he does, we'll see his face. A lot.

THE WILDCARD

With so many top-tier riders trying to win here, it's hard to pick just four. The truth is, we're going to see the biggest names in cycling and a dozen people only serious cycling nerds have heard of all gunning for the victory. Just pour yourself a Chimay and enjoy it, would you?
