The Sky team had a good weekend last year, with Chris Sutton adding his Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne victory to Flecha's second place in Omloop. Sutton won from a bunch sprint ahead of Hutarovich, Greipel, and Farrar. But will it come down to a sprint again?
JUAN ANTONIO FLECHA
The problem with picking likely contenders for K-B-K is that the people who perform well in Omloop are usual content to let the others have a go on Sunday. So, maybe Flecha? Mostly I just like the photograph of him reading a newspaper. He's so well-informed!
And we'll have Tommeke again too. Unlike his failed attempts at the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, Boonen's actually won the Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne, first in 2007, then in 2009. So maybe he'll win this year too! Or maybe it'll be Greipel! Or Hincapie! Or! Or! Or, you know what:
I DON'T KNOW
This much we do know: despite having an almost identical field and a similar route, it won't pan out the same as yesterday, because it never does. The winner won't be the guy who won yesterday, because he never is. Hey, the unpredictability is what makes this sport so great.
